Privacy Policy
The web poses a host of privacy concerns these days. At Givers by Design, we understand your concerns about privacy. We respect your right to privacy by collecting only the bare minimum of information necessary to maintain this site. This means that we do not collect or share information of a personal, confidential, or financial nature.
The web software used by this site to analyze aggregate traffic statistics collects no information that can be used to personally identify you, and is not shared with third parties under any circumstances.
No advertising is permitted on this site; therefore, no personally identifying behavioral information (e.g. clickstream / navigation / browsing patterns) is collected. Email addresses are not collected since the comments and newsletter functions of this site have been purposefully disabled.
In short, we do not collect personal information, nor do we share it.
By using this site, you give Givers by Design permission to collect the limited data listed in paragraph two, above, and agree to hold Givers by Design harmless for any breach of security due to the actions of third parties.
Financial Disclosure
Givers by Design maintains a strict zero-revenue policy at all times. Givers by Design sells no products; nor do we accept paid advertising, click-through fees, percentages, commissions, or any other form of compensation. Givers by Design does not solicit donations for itself or for any of the organizations that we highlight or refer to.
Because of this zero-revenue policy, we have elected not to pursue designation as a charitable or not-for-profit organization by the IRS under section 501 (c) 3.
To put the forgoing in plainer English, Givers by Design is not a 501(c)3 non-profit because it’s a whole bunch of red tape, and we don’t have any income or donations anyway! Let’s hope that the expenses stay small so that we can keep it this way!

Faith Background
The following information is not intended to be a complete statement of faith, such as one might find on a church website. Rather, the following points provide answers to some of the more common questions we have received about the faith background that we work from.
•We are unapologetically Christian in our beliefs and in our work, holding the preeminence of Christ and the authority of scripture to be above all things.
•As an organization, we are not associated with any particular denomination. For purposes of this site, we hold no preference, prejudice, or bias towards any particular denomination(s).
•The principal authors of this site worship at a “plain old” Presbyterian church, coming from a theological background that could be described as Protestant, Reformed, and Evangelical in nature.
•We acknowledge that true believers may disagree with our views in whole or in part, and respect their right to do so.
•We are not a part of what was termed, in the early part of the last century, the “Social Gospel Movement” – those who placed social transformation above Christ in priority, and who viewed Christ as a means to social ends. We plainly and explicitly affirm Christ’s preeminence and authority over all peoples, things, causes, and means.
•While we give particular emphasis on this site to the work of serving the world’s least and last in the name of Christ, we do not advocate salvation by works, specifically salvation by means of serving the poor. We affirm the truth of Ephesians 2:8-10, believing that we are saved by grace through faith, for the good works that the Father has planned for us.
•Our work at Givers by Design has been inspired and informed by a number of excellent Christian books, particularly The Hole in Our Gospel, by Richard Stearns. For a complete list of these books, refer to the Recommended Reading section of our Resources page.
•While we are at times critical of the Church, we by no means stand opposed to her or her God-given mission in the world. On the contrary, we seek to help her towards reclaiming a position of relevance and reputation in the eyes of a watching world by encouraging her historical obedience in, and passion for, serving the least and the last.
